Partnerships
When it comes to transforming an entire region you need to do more than just connect the dots. You need to have a constant presence that aligns every partner. A visionary that can see three moves ahead. A leader who can do it time and again.
RIDC’s unique position as a private nonprofit, with a track record of tangible results and relationships with leaders in myriad industries, enables it to serve as a credible, insightful partner and advocate on public policy issues that affect our region’s economic growth.
RIDC’s credibility also enables it to generate support among local and state government, and the foundation sector, for initiatives it believes in.
RIDC partners with communities, elected officials, and local economic development organizations to create transformative projects that attract businesses and job. Examples include our partnership with PennDOT, the PA Turnpike Commission, and Carnegie Mellon’s Safety 21 on PennSTART, a shared test track. The Westmoreland Industrial Development Corporation partners with RIDC on the New Kensington Advanced Manufacturing Park and the Westmoreland Innovation Center near New Stanton. RIDC is also partnering with Armstrong County Industrial Development to build momentum for the RIDC Armstrong Innovation Park and just concluded a successful partnership with the Pittsburgh Urban Redevelopment Authority after building, leasing, and selling a building and adjacent land in Fairywood.
