Park West Industrial Park is home to some of the region’s largest companies
Located in the airport corridor off Interstate-376 Parkway West, our 500-acre Park West Industrial Park is home to some of the region’s largest companies. The original 340 acres was purchased from Westinghouse Electric Corporation. The park sprawls over 1.8 million square feet and houses more than 60 companies, including Seegrid, Grainger, LanXess, VOLLMER of America Corp, KTA-Tator, Continuum, and Cigna. Three land parcels remain available for future commercial development. RIDC owns four properties totaling 174,500 square feet, the majority of which have become single tenant buildings.
In 2022, Seegrid, a RIDC Park West Industrial Park tenant, was named #4 in the robotics category for a Fast Company list of Most Innovative Robotics Companies in the World.
In 2019, employee-owned consulting engineering firm KTA-Tator acquired a 17.65-acre parcel from RIDC. KTA-Tator was already located at RIDC Park West at the time; it acquired the space it’s occupied since 1981. KTA-Tator’s building is a 45,000 square-foot facility housing all its operations, including metalworking, materials testing, analytical laboratories, training facilities for course offerings, instrument sales and corporate office services.
Also in 2019, RIDC tenant Continuum (formerly called Interphase Medical Equipment), signed a new five-year lease, more than doubling the size of their Pittsburgh headquarters in RIDC’s Findlay Center. This expansion from 12,000 to 28,000 square feet allows Continuum to consolidate administrative and warehouse operations from Philadelphia into their Pittsburgh headquarters, and expedite service to their customer base. The space features a larger, improved warehouse layout, along with more square footage for future offices as they add new staff.
In 2018, VOLLMER of America Corp acquired a 5.85-acre parcel from RIDC and completed construction on a one-story, 29,300 square-foot facility in 2020 for sales, service and distribution purposes.
