[RIDC President Donald Smith] said he sees Aurora’s buy as a positive thing for Pittsburgh’s industry here, noting the company calls the city its headquarters in tandem with another office in California, something Uber never had done despite making major real estate commitments here.
“I think it creates a larger stronger autonomous vehicle company based at least partially in Pittsburgh,” he said, noting the fear that such companies based elsewhere could woo them out of town to other cities.
