Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates Signs New Lease

in RIDC O’Hara Industrial Park

PITTSBURGH, PA – July 23, 2024 – Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates has signed a 52-month lease for 5,068 square feet at 534-536 Alpha Drive in RIDC O’Hara Industrial Park. The company is expected to move into the space August 1, 2024.

Hillis-Carnes (www.hcea.com) is a multi-specialty engineering firm with advanced capabilities in geotechnical and geostructural engineering, environmental consulting, specialty construction, construction materials engineering and testing, and third-party inspections. Its projects include schools, stadiums, highways and housing developments. With over 400 employees in 18 locations, the firm was named among Engineering News-Record’s Top 500 Design Firms.

“RIDC O’Hara was conceived in the 1960s as one the first planned industrial parks in the country, at a time when the Pittsburgh region needed to diversify its economy and provide homes for a wide range of businesses,” said Donald F. Smith, Jr., RIDC President. “The decision by Hillis-Carnes, a firm with a national footprint, to locate in O’Hara is an indication of the park’s continued strength as a destination, which has attracted start-ups and mature companies, in life sciences, professional services, manufacturing and other fields – with its proximity to the city, the universities, and quality of life in the surrounding communities.”

For nearly sixty years, RIDC has been a thriving hub for a variety of industries and is now home to more than 130 companies and thousands of jobs.
