RIDC WELCOMES TWO NEW TENANTS, CONICITY TECHNOLOGIES AND LAUREL PRINT & GRAPHICS, TO ITS PARKS

PITTSBURGH, PA – October 1, 2018 – The Regional Industrial Development Corporation of Southwestern Pennsylvania (RIDC) announced two new tenants: Conicity Technologies and Laurel Print & Graphics.

Conicity Technologies Moving from Latrobe to Keystone Commons in Turtle Creek

Conicity Technologies has signed a 5-year lease at Keystone Commons, moving from their current location in Latrobe to the former Westinghouse industrial facility Turtle Creek. Conicity will occupy 2,650 square feet of space in the West Shop Industrial Mall, which is 30% larger than their current space.

The West Shop Industrial Mall has been a long-time growth space for manufacturing and technical services firms that require flexible space with amenities like an indoor parking lot, fitness studio and easy access to public transportation routes on Braddock Avenue.

“We have seen a tremendous growth in aerospace machining and are expecting continued growth with several large imminent service contracts. In order to handle this new work and develop a stronger presence in Pittsburgh, we needed to relocate to somewhere larger which was also closer to the city. Keystone Commons is an ideal spot for this as it also has freight accessible production, warehouse, and office space,” said Lucas Shaffer, Vice President of Conicity Technologies.

Conicity Technologies has pioneered edge preparation processes that increase the efficiency, productivity and lifespan of cutting tools used in manufacturing with advanced materials across many industries.

Laurel Print & Graphics Relocating from White Oak to Millwrights Building in Duquesne

Laurel Print & Graphics signed a six-year lease for 10,000 square feet of space the Millwrights Building in RIDC’s City Center of Duquesne, formerly Duquesne Steel Works, with a contingency for additional adjacent space to accommodate their rapid growth. The move represents approximately a 34% increase in facility size.

“This is our third expansion in the past five years and by the end of next year, we expect a fifty percent increase in employees and as much as double the size of our facility. Having a contingency for additional space built into the lease with RIDC was an important selling point for us,” said Keith Jones, President of Laurel Print & Graphics. “This location gives us easy access to all of our customers, whether they’re in Downtown Pittsburgh, elsewhere in Allegheny County or Westmoreland County. Also, the site’s openness of space will allow us to increase capacity and production, particularly in our dye sublimation fabrics business.”

Laurel Print & Graphics produces a wide range of products, from business cards to 126-inch x 100-foot signs and everything in between, including high quality posters, signs, banners, printed fabrics, wall graphics, vehicle graphics and floor graphics.

“The region’s economy is strong, businesses in all sectors are growing and we’re pleased to be able to support the expansion of these great companies.  We always strive to make room in our diverse portfolio of properties for tenants whose space needs change over time,” said Donald Smith, President of RIDC.

RIDC’s Senior Vice President for Development, Tim White, said: “The elected officials representing Turtle Creek and Duquesne have been extremely helpful and supportive of the success of this site and are clearly committed to the economic success of the community. We appreciate that support as we fulfill our mission of redeveloping properties to create jobs and homes for businesses that are driving the economy.”
