Power Generation Equipment and Management Company BRUSH Group

Extends Lease at RIDC’s Keystone Commons

EAST PITTSBURGH, PA – July 23, 2024 – Regional Industrial Development Corporation of Southwestern Pennsylvania (RIDC) announced that power generation company BRUSH Group has signed a five-year extension of its lease for 76,767 square-feet of space in the Keystone Commons’s West Shop.

The company has been a tenant at Keystone Commons since 2005 and uses the location as a service/repair center for large scale generators and electrical equipment. The lease extension will run through 2029.

Since RIDC purchased the former Westinghouse plant 35 years ago, it has worked with State, County, and local leaders to redevelop the complex into a world class, multi-use, multi-tenant urban industrial facility and provide the community with greater job stability. The complex is now home to more than 40 companies and over 1,100 jobs and is considered one of the most successful redevelopment projects in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

“Keystone Commons is an iconic part of Pittsburgh’s history, dating back to an era when our region was an industrial and innovation powerhouse,” said Donald F. Smith, Jr., RIDC President. “Today, companies like BRUSH are carrying on that legacy and taking the property into the future as a center of economic activity. Our work at Keystone Commons is a vibrant example of RIDC’s commitment to the Mon Valley – which includes our properties at Duquesne and McKeesport – and this lease extension demonstrates BRUSH’s commitment to the future of the region.”
