Affival Extends Lease, Expands Space at New Kensington Advanced Manufacturing Park

New Kensington, PA — December 27, 2023 — Affival has extended and expanded its space at the New Kensington Advanced Manufacturing Park, a joint venture between the Regional Industrial Development Corporation of Southwestern PA (RIDC) and Westmoreland County Industrial Development (WCIDC). With the 12,000 square feet it is now adding, the company, which has been a tenant at the park since 2019, will now occupy 152,368 square feet in two buildings, with the lease running through January 31, 2035.
Affival, an affiliate of Opta Group, is a world leader in cored-wire manufacturing and application.
“We are happy to be part of RIDC’s and WCIDC’s group of Industrial and Manufacturing Parks and look forward to working with them in the future,” said Curt Britton, Affival Operations Manager. “And we’re happy to be investing in New Kensington.”
“Paving the way for Re:Build Manufacturing’s up-and-coming renovated facility is certainly a big part of investing in New Kensington’s future,” said Donald F. Smith, Jr, RIDC President. “But we and our partners at the WCIDC are also committed to supporting the companies already occupying the manufacturing park. Affival has recommitted to staying here, and we want to make sure they have what they need to grow.”
“Our investment with RIDC in this industrial park does a couple of important things. We’re preserving the tax-generating capability of its facilities — much to the benefit of the local communities and schools — and we’re ensuring that Westmoreland County has the capacity to support growing businesses,” said Jason Rigone, WCIDC Executive Director. “Affival really needed more warehouse space, and we’re glad that we could support them and their 65 workers with this lease.”
