Last week, we hosted NAIOP Pittsburgh’s Developing Leader’s Project Tour at the Chocolate Factory, part of the former Heppenstall Steel industrial site we redeveloped and revitalized. When we took ownership of the site in 2002, we had the vision of creating an urban technology park. What started as a landing pad for tech start-ups, strategically positioned near National Robotics Engineering Center, has since grown into Robotics Row, now home to many of the leading autonomy companies in Pittsburgh. “The rise of Robotics Row is as much about real estate as it is tech. The RIDC had a lot to do with that.” – Geek Wire.
