Former Heppenstall Building in Lawrenceville
RIDC recently won the award for best industrial renovation from NAIOP Pittsburgh. This project took a vacant mill structure in Lawrenceville and turned it into a bright, modern R&D and assembly space for Carnegie Robotics – a fast growing spin out of CMU’s National Robotics Engineering Consortium. Preserving the industrial shell while adding light, radiant floor heating and an office tower inside the facility provided the environment needed to create over 100 high paying technology jobs in Pittsburgh. RIDC invested nearly $2M in renovations to make this 30,000 sq ft transformation come to fruition.
Thanks to our partners Desmone Architects and Franjo Construction who helped us make this project a reality.
