Build to Suit

RIDC Build to Suit Properties
RIDC utilizes a comprehensive approach to coordinate a development project from conceptual design through completion and occupancy. To the extent that its direct involvement is appropriate, RIDC also offers effective property management. RIDC can provide build to suit development services for projects from the traditional office and industrial developments to lab and R&D projects. These development services are not limited to RIDC-owned property; RIDC can help companies develop their project in any location in Southwestern Pennsylvania.

Financing Assistance

RIDC can assist companies with the available financing programs through local, state, and federal entities. Financing is available for environmental assessment & remediation, infrastructure construction, building construction, equipment, and working capital.  RIDC can also assist companies with low interest financing available through the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority.

Foreign-Trade Zone

Under a grant issued by the Foreign-Trade Zone Board of the U.S. Department of Commerce, RIDC is grantee of Foreign Trade Zone #33. Foreign-Trade Zone #33 was established to attract and promote international trade and commerce in western Pennsylvania.  RIDC was granted the charter of administering the 33rd FTZ program in southwestern Pennsylvania in 1977 when RIDC was involved in bringing Volkswagen to Westmoreland County. Since then, many well known companies have taken advantage of this economic development program. Companies such as Sony, Leedsworld, Mitsubishi and others have been beneficiaries of the FTZ .  Foreign Trade Zone #33 is comprised of 17 sites stretching throughout Southwestern Pennsylvania, including sites in Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Lawrence and Westmoreland counties as well as parts of the City of Pittsburgh.  FTZ 33 consists of over 6,500 acres.  Many of the FTZ 33 designated sites are located on strategic riverfront properties.
